Acrylic Painting Old Man Emu.

This is another one I painted awhile ago, its done in acrylics, its a copy of Ainslie Roberts work Old Man Emu. There is quite a story to the painting as there are with most of his works on aboriginal folklore. If you would like to know of the stories to his works, just google him in and will find them.  This one actually ended up as being part of a payment to a lovely computer man, who fixed my computer the last time it was hacked and crashed. While we were taking about the repairs it came up he is a follower and supporter of the arts.  I told him I love painting and all art, and it ended up saving me a lot of money in computer repairs when he said he would like some of my work..  He also gave me some really good links to different artists works on the net.  He was a really beautiful person and incredibly helpful.

I’ve been spending most of the afternoon and night cleaning cupboards and drawers out, getting rid of a lot of the junk we tend to accumulate. Am going to see about moving,  my poor dog has started to chew all his nails, some of them he is really ripping at. I know it is from what has been going on, not being able to go out and spend time or play properly in his yard without being sprayed etc.  which has made him pretty crook at times, and wow it makes you agitated also, I know from first hand experience of it.  When I moved in here I was just so happy to have a home again, I had promised him one for a long time, and he so loved his yard. Niether of us get to go out there any more.   All animals should be happy.  He’s laying on the floor next to me at the moment, watching for a mouse we have in the house.  I  put a mousetrap in the cupboard with some cheese on it before, and went to check it a little while ago, I couldn’t believe it the ants have pinched all the cheese (each summer we have a really bad ant problem), never knew ants were so partial to cheese.  Put a bigger chunk in this time, hoping they can’t carry it away.   So I think we have some very happy well stocked up ants.

The top painting I did in acrylics, “Waiting in the Storm”, and the other is in soft pastels “After the Storm”.  I had a lot of trouble trying to get the right light and colours to show up properly in the photo in the pastel one, its ok but still hasn’t showed the colours up properly.

These were both done awhile ago, and the acrylic one sold very quickly so was lucky, helped to buy more supplies.

This is just a small acrylic one I had some fun with a couple of months ago. I loved the expression on his face and his “kinda” hammock.

Have popped this on mainly to welcome blissbait back, and to say thank you for a couple of awards I was given to me, which I have to pick up from you.

I haven’t been blogging or painting much at all. Been having some problems here with a couple of people living very close by.  I have actually taken to sleeping outside as its been a lot healthier than being inside.  How ridiculous hey. I sat out the back with my dog the other night and wasn’t long after going out there saw a squirt of fluid go across the back yard, within about 10 minutes we had to move from there, my dog was sneezing and choking, I saw another one go straight past there also before moving, towards the neighbours air vents in his walls. It appears they have a high pressure squirt gun. You can smell the pesticides in it.

I haven’t been able to catch up with him to let him know. He’s at work all day and normally if you don’t catch him coming in the driveway, can’t get an answer to the door at night. Has a hearing problem I believe. These demented little imbeciles also have lasers and a projectorless taser they have been shooting around.  I have been hit in the eye and head a few times and so has my dog. I have contacted the local member of parliament.  Its illegal in Australia to own these.  So they make their own of the web. Thats a laser on my dog, they keep getting him in the eyes, he hardly goes out the back any more he even started to hide behind the bin out there.  Now when he goes out he comes in sneezing and choking, they’ve obviously got him in the face with the squirt gun.

Anyway enough of that just thought would explain why I haven’t been on or picked the awards up. Thank you.

ACRYLIC SWANS AND HEY, NOT MUCH LIMPING.

The top photo is of a painting, in acrylics, I did from Ainslee Roberts, his work is wonderful. He was actually invited into an aboriginal tribe for awhile and learnt a lot about their folk lore and did a lot of paintings while with them based on their storiesl

The second is my beautiful boy. He’s not limping so much this afternoon, I went to the garage about 3 this morning and got some dettol, didn’t have any in the house and wanted to bathe his paw for him. The sock bandage lasted about 10 seconds after leaving the front door,  each step taken was another shake of the leg to get it off.

Babysitting and a bit of sulking going on also me thinks. “Whats Mum bought into the house?”  After about an hour though he had adopted, and each time I lifted the puppy up he would stand and try and get it away from me to put it on the floor next to him. When I bought it home to look after it, it was crying on the back seat all the way,  he was on the front seat and quickly got on the floor and hid, stayed there til we got home.  This is the guy who adopted incubated chickens for 6 weeks, wouldn’t leave their side, and has never eaten chicken since, won’t touch it after he saw my son kill one on his farm.

He got into the chook house one day, he wanted to play with them, when I went down later to feed them I freaked, there appeared to be dead chooks every where and some missing, they were laying there with their legs in the air. I had to ring my son and tel him. I went down a few more times in the day and they were still there “dead” with their legs in the air. I felt so bad.  He had never hurt anything in his life, when my son got home we went down to see, and the bloody chooks were all under the tree together. They had been playing dead. I couldn’t believe it.

He got a big telling off, and never went in there again, but played from the outside. They didn’t mind that.

I got woken up today to his face stuck in front of mine and he’s talking away, yep, he actually talks, I’ve never known a dog who tries so hard to talk our way.  When that didn’t work to wake me properly he laid on the floor and just thumped his tail really hard and heavy, (this is a new one,)  to wake me up.  That worked.

Popped another couple of ACEO’s  I’ve done over the last few days, these were done in oils with a palette knife. Something I am only just learning to work with.

ab vase flow Tomorrow must learn how to add a shopping cart on my site.  Don’t think there’s any great difficulty in it, hope not any ways.  Sales at ebay for some reason have just gone?  totally, with only 3 in the last 3 weeks, after sailing along nicely it came to a crunching halt the same time as my computer was hacked and crashed, the same day.   I can’t understand how over night like that something can stop so abruptly.  Its wierd.

I spent a night or two going through some of the other art blogs here on wordpress, thoroughly enjoyable, and getting to see some pretty awesome artworks also.

I’m trying to save up for some heavy duty watercolour paper, a couple of brushes,  and hope to try some watercolour paintings soon,  haven’t done any watercolour for a long time, and I certainly am no where near mastering it, but will be fun any way.

Another Painting and Putting the Mouse to Bed.

The painting of the Angel Fish I did awhile ago, and this was one that sold fairly quickly.

The drought on ebay finally finished with the sale of a couple of the little miniatures, after 16 days with no sales I was starting to look with a knowledge of no sales so was really nice when a couple went. fish

Have you ever woken to a mouse in your bed.  My dog caught a mouse. I was woken to the sound of him trying to talk to me in his own language,  but its hard to talk with a mouse dangling from your mouth. On opening one eye to see what the fuss was about I decided to do what the mouse was and play dead.  He would put it on the bed next to me, then when it ran away, straight off and catch it again, after a few attempts to try and make it sit on the bed properly he realised its not going to stay put like he wants it to, so just sat there with it dangling  from his mouth, holding it very gently. But at the same time trying to talk to me to wake me and show me his new friend.  I decided it was time to stop playing dead myself and rescue the mouse, denying him his new mate.   Once he realised I was awake and starting to sit up, its time for it to be plonked in my lap.  I jumped a mile in the air and the poor mouse did also and took off again, this time he got a chance to get away.  Holding my dog by his collar until it had gone.  I was in the bad books for a long time after, talk about sulk.  He adopts anything, and can’t understand when I take the poor things away from him. The other day I heard him talking and barking at something outside for ages, decided to go see, and he’d caught a bird, beautiful little thing it was, he had his nose right next to the birds beak and every time it tried to move he nudged it and talked to it. I finally got the bird in my hands and took it inside and into a box with some water bread and spinach leaves for a bed, I really didn’t expect it to live through the night and thought it would die of fright.  I was happily suprised the next morning when I heard it cheeping. Took it out the front and sat it on the doorstep and it flew off about 10 minutes later.  Once again I’m in the bad books with sulky looks for hours after.  Aren’t they beautiful.

Hello and welcome to my blog. My blog is about art,  paintings, drawings,  ACEO’s which are quite addictive, they measure 2.5 by 3.5 inches, miniature artworks.  I love collecting and making them.

I have sold my art both locally and overseas, Europe, U.S.A.  England, and Korea.  These are a couple of ACEO’s,  two in oils with a palette knife, one in oil pastels, and the gumflowers in coloured pencils.

Thank you for looking, I will be adding more a little later, I hope you enjoy your visit here.
